The General Assembly (GA) of NEVEDI of which Hepromij is member, has today agreed by a large majority for participation in the project NEVEDI "Sustainable Soy Chain Package 2012-2015 '. This participation is estimated for an amount of 1.4 million Euros. This amount represents 20% of the total cost of the transition to sustainable soybean in the supply chain. The contribution of Nevedi is spread over three years, through a fee charged to members.
To participate in the chain for sustainable soy, Nevedi has committed for bright conditions and clear principles. Nevedi expects of IDH (Sustainable Trade Initiative) that on 15 December, a letter of intent will be signed on the 50% co-financing of the chain arrangement. The parties in the chain are required by NEVEDI to submit before April 1, 2012 whether they for at least 70% can guarantee their share of the costs of the transition.
